The United States Dressage Federation is the only national membership organization dedicated to dressage, a method of horse training in existence since ancient Greece and an Olympic sport since the inception of the modern Olympics in the late 1800’s.   Dedicated to education, the recognition of achievement and promotion of dressage, USDF is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization with more than 30 different educational programs, 125 affiliate local or regional clubs and more than 2000 annual awards for excellence in competition.  The national levels, Training Level through Fourth Level, are governed by the United States Equestrian Federation. The international levels are governed by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI).

USDF CONNECTION MONTHLY MAGAZINE ON-LINE: 
USDF members can access USDF Connection Monthly magazine on-line. www.usdf.org/publications     NOTE:  Every NODA member is a USDF Group Member, assigned an individual USDF ID number.   You will need this USDF ID number to login and view the magazine.

USEF ANNOUNCES JOINT MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH USDF:  The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), announced today that effective June 28, United States Dressage Federation members who have an active USDF participating membership and are USEF members can now obtain one joint USEF/USDF membership card as opposed to two separate cards. The card can be accessed online and carries both of the individual membership numbers.


USDF University  USDF UNIVERSITY 
The USDF University program provides recognition for USDF members who strive to continue their dressage education through their participation in USDF educational programs. It also provides an accreditation structure for independently-organized events, allowing members to earn USDF credit for participating in accredited programs conducted by GMOs and other groups. For guidelines and other important documents, see our forms & documents page.    Each year, during its annual convention, USDF Offers educational sessions for dessage professionals and enthusiasts of all levels. USDF accepts proposals for suggested topics. Topics must be submittted to the USDF office by February 1st on the appropriate form (PDF).   USDF University Program online accredited courses:   You can earn credits by taking courses on-line with Michigan State University, Texas A&M University's Continuing and Professional Studies, Equine Nutritional Solutions, and Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. Region 2 News

Rider applications are being accepted until August 27, 2010 for the Platinum Performance/USDF Adult Clinic featuring Charlotte Bredahl-Baker to be held on October 30-31, 2010 in Brookston, IN. Auditor pre-registration for this clinic closes on October 15.

Region 2 Championships at Flintfields Horse Park Closing date is August 11 for Dressage by the Bay Fall Classic & for Regional 2 Championships. Entries must be received by then to avoid late fees, however should you not get your qualifying scores by the final weekend of August 14 and 15, your entry will be returned and refunded less office fee. Also, if you would like to attend the Dressage4Kids Exhibitor Social and Charity Fundraiser Party during the Musical Freestyle performance, please indicate so on your entry blank. Apply for a grant!   One deserving group member will receive the Ruth Arvanette Memorial Fund Grant to attend the 2010 Adequan/USDF Annual Convention in Jacksonville, FL. The grant includes full convention registration and partial reimbursement for travel expenses. Applications due by Aug 31.
 
GMO Delegate/Proxy Forms   The deadline for GMOs to have their GMO Delegate/Proxy forms returned to the USDF office is August 31. If you need a form for completion, please email nominations@usdf.org or call the USDF office.  To view the GMO Delegates and Proxies that have been appointed to date, visit the USDF Web site. Adequan®/USDF National Symposium   "Bridging the Gap from Training to Showing; Learn to Ride the New Tests" will be the theme for this year’s Adequan/USDF National Symposium featuring Lilo Fore and Gary Rockwell to be held December 4-5 in Jacksonville, FL. 2010 PM Delegate Election Results   The 2010 PM delegate election results are now available. The elected PM delegates serve a one year term, from the time they are elected in 2010 until the next election in 2011. PM delegates represent the interests of all USDF Participating Members on the USDF Board of Governors, and will be voting on issues at the convention, as well as issues that may arise throughout the year.

USDF Nomination for the USEF Youth Sportsman Award
Applications are available for active USDF Youth Participating Members to be nominated for the 2010 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Youth Sportsman’s Award, sponsored by Breyer Animal Creations®. USDF Youth Convention Scholarship
Calling all youth! The Youth Programs Advisory Subcommittee will be offering up to four USDF Youth Convention Scholarships of up to $1,000 each to outstanding USDF Youth Participating Members. Don’t miss an amazing opportunity to attend the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention and experience USDF behind the scenes as a guest in various youth committee meetings and educational sessions. All score corrections must be reported by October 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
