NODA BARN NEWS
from Newsletter Reporter, Kelly WalkerNews from Crosswinds Farm in May: Congrats to Kimberly Moody and her beautiful Thoroughbred, Rock Island Line (aka “Stoker”) After competing in only two of the four Winter Series Dressage Schooling Shows at Chagrin Valley Farm, their scores were high enough to earn Reserve Champion for Training Level Test 3 and Reserve Champion for Training Level Test 4. They also achieved the highest averaged score for Training Level 3! Very cool. Kimberly and “Stoker” train with Bob Weston of Crosswinds Farm. They thank him for his dedication and commitment to helping them grow as a team.
NEWS FROM THE APRIL NEWSLETTER
From Topline Stables: Welcome Darvee! Regina and Edy Sacha-Ujczo have added another four-hooved family member this past year. Don Darveen - aka "Darvee" was imported from Germany and is rapidly loving his new life in the United States. Regina and her trainer, Janeen Langowski of Topline Stables traveled to Germany with Jan Ebeling this past November to find Darvee. He is an 11-year old Holsteiner (and Hanoverian) by the famous Germany stud Donnerhall. He is 17.0 hands, very dark brown and adorable. He is trained to Grand Prix and is currently teaching Regina how to half-halt as she winters in Florida with Nancy M. Smith. Darvee loves his turnout and rolling in the sand. He is a "love bug" and very kind. We all look forward to seeing this new pair soon!
Regina’s former mount, Foenix, is currently being ridden by Junior Rider extraordinaire, Chelsea Allen of Erie, PA. Foenix is planned to be sold as a very generous schoolmaster at the end of this year's show season. We wish Regina and Darvee and Chelsea and Foenix lots of fun and success this show season!
From Transitions Dressage: Lauren Ball Tisdale attended the Palm Beach Dressage Derby February 28-March 2. She showed Suzy Coleman’s Brazen Beauty at Training Level. She earned scores of 66%, 68% and 70% and collected 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. She was thrilled, especially with the tough competition there! Jenny Harding showed her new young horse, Rotpson's Crusador a lovely 6 year old Hanoverian gelding. This was Rudy’s first dressage competition and he too, was a star. She earned scores of 66% and 68% and collected a 2nd and 3rd place.
From Rivendel Farm: Congratulations to Becky Kirk and the Kirk family on their new first horse - Oreo Blizzard. Oreo is a 3 year old black and white Pinto gelding, He is an Arab/Paint cross, very sweet and quick to learn. Look for them this summer in Intro Horse
NODA Members make a great showing in the USDF 2007 Year-End Awards
By Kathy Kirchner & Published in the April 2007 NODA Newsletter2007 was a great year for NODA, as evidenced by the number of national awards won by our members. Competing at recognized shows requires a great deal of time, effort, and dedication, not to mention a sizeable financial investment. Placing in any division when your competition comprises riders from the entire country is worthy of huge congratulations. We can all be very proud of our members who so ably represent NODA in the 2007 USDF Year-End Awards.
